That is one of those characteristically weird sentences of this course...

Ah, yes, and the more weird the more memorable???

You should take a look at the Danish course then.

I thought the Danish course was just doing the Norwegian course with your mouth full.

"with a potato in your mouth" I think is the common expression

I assume this refers to the animal's conservation status rather than the preferred cooking temperature?

That's correct, or to their scarcity at least.

"Rare" in terms of how thoroughly cooked a piece of meat is would be "lett stekt" or "blodig".

Takk! Good to know.

Someone catch that person, he ate all the dodos.

sounds like something Cruella de Ville would say

Jeg vil ha en urokseburger vær så snill.

So an aurochs is an ur-ox? (sighs in contentment - that moment when etymology makes the universe appear purposeful and that whatever is, is right)

Reminds me of the Extinction Dinner Club of one of the Artemis Fowl novels by Eoin Colfer.

This sentence is a nightmare for PETA.

Reminds me of Ylvis' Christmas song. ;)

"Why?" said the vegan. "Do you want to lead them to extinction!?"

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/TheSnowKing

It takes twice as much farmland to sustain a vegan as a non-vegan, and most animals that are facing extinction are facing it because people keep chopping down forests to expand farms.

A vegan diet does not take twice as much land as non-vegan. A simple google search would show you this.

Reminds me of one of my favourite Christmas songs. "Og vi spiser fredet fugl..."

https://www.duolingo.com/profile/sarefo

Reminds me of The Freshman, a 1990 film with Marlon Brando :)

The official answer doesn't sound right. I've only ever heard "I prefer ____ing..." in spoken English.
