Silly, but...where's my trumpet?!
I quite enjoy that trumpet tooting its horn for me so that I don't have to toot my own when I master a skill.
What ever happened to that trumpet? I never hear it anymore when I master a skill.
Perhaps not the most urgent language discussion, but I always looked forward to it.
Bill, mine got sorted 4 years ago. Bren helped me through email, but I cleaned out my inbox a couple months ago and don't remember how we fixed it. I just did a lesson and can confirm that the trumpet is there for the rest of us. What browser are you using and have you tried it in another browser?
Skye, I didn't update my browser in that period of time. However, I like your suggestion. When I reach the end of my next skill, I will do the last lesson on my iPad and see if I can hear it on there. It can help me determine the source of the problem. I'll post an update when that happens. Thanks!
I only hear the trumpet on the website when I go up a level through Real World Translations. Lessons don't give me any trumpets.
It's silly, but this is actually the reason my mother does a ton of French practice when I and my iPad (with the app) are around, but none when she just has the website. She LOVES those trumpets.
I posted down below somewhere, but I just tried it using Google Chrome and got trumpets. Also, now it automatically says the phrase when you advance to the next windows, which Firefox doesn't. I suspect that the issue is Firefox adblocker. I'll try unblocking the adblocker and see it it works. I may try updating to the latest version of Firefox.
I use FireFox's Ad-Blocker-Plus. It is a little red stop sign at the top right of the page that has a ABP on it. Once I had a Duolingo page open I selected the tab for "Disable on Duolingo.com" and now I have trumpets always. Also, with it disabled it automatically says the next phrase when you advance to the next window. ABP was preventing that before.
