Sound not working in iPhone app

Sound on iPhone works perfectly, but not within Duolingo. iPhone 5 running latest version system 7. Any suggestions? THank you!

Hi! Are you offline when this happens? Is sound not working in all lessons?

Sound does not work in any lesson. I am using app on my iPhone. Not sure what "offline" means in this context. Thank you for any insight.
