If "Sie" is she, then why is "Sie essen" "They eat"?

"Sie" does not mean only "she" also means "They" so it has two meaning - one is she and another is they. So, we can define the translation of the sentence according to the verb. Sie isst - She eats/She is eating (both are the same in German Language) and Sie essen - They eat/they are eating (both are the same in German language)
