I wouldn't say your sentence is wrong. I'm guessing that DL wanted to stick to the most direct translation possible.

"Wij" or "We" should both be marked correctly, I believe, if not can someone please explain why???

Wij is accepted, only when it's a type what you hear exercise it only accepts we here due to the difference in pronunciation.
