Can the letter ö be counted as a typo in portuguese?
Hi, it's just a small request. Often in the mobile app I'll accidentally enter ö instead of õ and not realise because the letters are small. Instead of being counted as a typo it marks the entire thing wrong - presumably because ö does not belong to the portuguese alphabet. Can we have the checking adjusted to accommodate this? Cheers.
The ö (aka umlaut in German/diaeresis in Portuguese) actually does/did exist. I believe based on an agreement it is being removed from dictionaries, but the process of people not using it may take much longer. Unfortunately your typo makes the word have a completely different pronunciation and possibly be a different word, so i am unsure as to whether they will count it as a typo.
