"Fisken svømmer gjennom vannet."

Translation:The fish is swimming through the water.

Can we learn the word "mermaid" so that we can have the sentence "The mermaid is swimming through the water" and "The mermaid is singing and the men hear"?

What's wrong with "The fish swim through the water." This was marked incorrect. Is it just a grading error?

I feel like the fish is swimming in the water should also be accepted. I know it's about the translation of 'gjennom', but this just feels like an unnatural sentence in English.

I don't know how you expect a fish - or anybody for that matter - to swim if not through the water. That sentence is a bit awkward.
