I think "hahahaha". "ĥaĥaĥaĥa" sounds like you have a cough.

The later is more natural for russians, though, maybe? I know I've seen it spelled хахахаха. Maybe also greek, spanish?

I use хахаха when I type in Russian, and my BG friend also types it that way when she's using Cyrillic.

Yes, "xaxaxa" in russian and "jajaja" in spanish are the same as "ĥaĥaĥa" in Esperanto, but "hahaha" is faster

It does sound as a cough if you pronounce it as /χ/, but in Esperanto you should pronounce more properly ĥ as /x/.

If you want to see the usage in Esperanto, then check out official and unofficial words in PMEG.

As a word for laughter it mentions only ha (often written repeatedly: “ha ha”, “ha, ha, ha”), but you're right, that many people write that as ĥa.

Dankon por interesa demando! Respondante mi lernis multe. :)

Esperantistoj certe ne ternas °aĉu, ĉar tio eblus esti komprenata kiel °aĉ·u = aĉ- + -u, do io kiel „estu vi terura, aĉa”. Trovis mi, ke verŝajne tiu sonimito, kion vi serĉas, estas haĉum.

Tiuteme: „Ekkriaj vortetoj kaj sonimitoj” ĉe PMEG kaj aparte „Neoficialaj ekkriaj vortetoj kaj sonimitoj”, „Sonimitoj en esperanto” ĉe Vikipedio, eta fadeno pri esperantaj sonimitoj ĉe Lernu, arĥivo de „Aktuala” kun listo de bestaj krioj en la numero de oktobro 2008, listo de ekkrivortetoj, alia listo kun anglaj tradukoj.

Maybe they spell it "ja," like in Spanish.
