Some of the speaking questions never complete?

This has been happening since last night. Most things are working, but some of the speaking question ("Click the microphone and say ...") are never completing. The spinner just goes forever after you click the "Check" button. Some servers down?

OK, I've had the chance to test. Some of the voice questions worked, but now I'm stalled on "Il fait dix degrés ce matin."

Back for another try. I had disabled the microphone to get past some of the lessons, but I turned it back on to give it another go. Stalled again on " Du siehst aus wie meine nächste Freundin." (Switched to German for a bit.)

I have this problem occasionally and it makes for very difficult timed practices. Sometimes the voice won't read it off and everything is stalled until the voice finally kicks in. I'm using Chrome on Ubuntu.

What's the behavior do you experience on Chrome? Can you make a recording? After you click "start", do you see the "stop" button, or it just spins? Does the system grade your recording in the end?

I can stop and start my recording, but it just sort of hangs afterwards with the "o" spinning. Usually if I leave it long enough it grades but sometimes my time runs out and I fail the timed practice.

Do you see words turning to green when that happens?

They usually just stay grey until it finally wakes up and grades it.

This has been happening occasionally for months. Most irksomely, when it happens in timed practice the clock keeps counting down, and if it hits zero while you are waiting for your answer to be processed you are told you ran out of time.

OK, it is still slow to respond sometimes, but it does seem to be working. I did a couple of "strengthen" exercises without having to disable the mic.

The fix still didn't work for me, I still had to wait close to a minute before moving on in the exercise. I am using Chrome for PC

This fix is meant for non-Chrome users. What's the behavior do you experience on Chrome? Can you make a recording? After you click "start", do you see the "stop" button, or it just spins? Does the system grade your recording in the end?

When the microphone exercise occur it works the first two times, then on the third time it freezes and the stop sign doesn't do anything when clicked. The main duolingo icon will endlessly loop the "o" in duolingo and have to wait an approximate 45-60 seconds before it makes a beep and carry on. It grades at the end but I usually disable the microphone by then. Sorry to ask but how do I send a video personally to you?
