I just finished the "tree" and earned the golden owl. I really loved the course and I think it helped my Spanish a lot. I have made great progress in listening too, at some point native speakers (which I listen to on youtube) somehow slowed down for me (subjectively).

In any case, I will try to make the whole tree "golden" now, though currently Duolingo in their infinite machine learning wisdom seems to believe I am forgetting faster than I am learning....

True. The better my Spanish becomes the more slower people seem to speak.

Awesome. Congrats. I just got my 1 year streak today without a single skip. It is so much fun to continue learning Spanish everyday

Congrats! May I have a question? Have you done one time or more the replacement test or never?

I tried... but as far as I remember I didn't even manage the first one. I did have prior knowledge in Spanish, but not remotely enough to nail everything...

Oh, so it means that if I finish the tree without any replacement test I will be level 14 maximum.. :/

Depends how much you repeated and how much Immersion you are doing. Quite a few users don't repeat ever and finish the tree at a much lower level. Others may get heavily into the Immersion stuff and finish at a much higher level than me...

But how the immersion is connected to the level? have you repeated the lessons 3 times+ per each lesson? (so I can guess which level I can be)

I just made the whole tree "golden" again. Still 56% fluent... Before I started I had 57%!
