"å bli" keeps confusing me. In Dutch, "blijven" is "to stay". :D

'å bli' can mean both 'to stay' and 'to become'.

As a native speaker of Finnish that doesnt have defineteness (a/the) distinction I always get a major headache trying to make heads or tails of a's and the's in these sentences!

jente = girl

en jente / ei jente = a girl

jenten / jenta = the girl

kvinne = woman

en kvinne / ei kvinne = a woman

kvinnen / kvinna = the woman
