How to use "ь" ?

I'm so confused about the usage of "ь" and also it's pronunciation. Please somebody help !

Ь never prononsed! It is just a mark what show that previous letter is pronounced softly. Sorry for my english.

I may be wrong but I don't think one can pronounce that letter. It's kinda softening a consonant that precedes it. You are doing French so, maybe this example will make sense to you. The way you pronounce "elle" in French would sound like "єль" (sort of).

Small correction: the way you pronounce "elle" in French sounds like "ель", not "єль". The "є" sound is the "ye" as in "YEar" in English, while "е" is the "e" in "Energy".
