We need more exercises of *Participoj* in the Esperanto course
The introduction to Participoj in the Education lesson is far from enough, even though you say is not as necessary as one would think. I know I can learn more about them in several places, like http://bertilow.com/pmeg/gramatiko/participoj/index.html , but I also believe that it is better to learn about them in Duolingo, where if I make mistakes, I quickly know about them.
Besides, maybe they are not as important as one could expect, because not enough people learn them properly.
Mi esperas ke vi povas kompreni, kion mi volas diri. La angla ne estas mia desnaska lingvo.
Thanks for your suggestion. When we are allowed to add additional modules to the course, we will definitely add more participles and sentences to illustrate their use.
(Mi esperas KE vi povas kompreni…) Nice, I agree.
Compound tenses are not necessary in Esperanto, but it's very nice sometimes (the adverb participles too).
"Se mi scius, mi ne venus." is enough, but literally means "if i ('d) know, i wouldn't come".
"Se mi estus sciinta, mi ne estus veninta" is heavy but precise.
"Se mi sciintus, mi ne venintus" just rocks! :D
Sadly, according to http://bertilow.com/pmeg/gramatiko/participoj/a-vortoj.html UNT and UT are not part of the official Esperanto: "...tiuj participoj ne estas parto de la oficiala Esperanto". I think those sound great, but... that's how it is now.
It's not official, but has already been used a funny way. By the end of a congress where there was some organizational problems, two participants made a poem where they thanked the organizuntojn (those who would have organized). Just like in English, youngly, foots and tooths are wrong, but everybody would understand them if one were to use them because of a lack of vocabulary or simply because it's straight forward. Using -unt- and -ut- isn't official but still shows knowledge… or logic^^
Noted my mistake (and edited). That's the thing: this course is short, but quite complete. However, although maybe not necessary, those compound tenses may enrich the language, and even help our understanding of it.
Dankon! Nu, nun mi devas vidi ĉiujn videaĵojn :-)
Tamen, ĉu vi metos pli multe da ekzercojn?
