For record temperatures, January is hottest in Australia. For average high temps, it's December, but for average lows it's January again.

It often seems like February is hotter than either nowadays, but that won't be reflected in the BOM data for a while - need a few more summers to prove or disprove it. Meanwhile, can Sydney to the 47°c we got last summer...? XD
