More variety in exercises?
I started learning Esperanto a few days ago, and I'm really enjoying it. However, the main issue I'm having with the Duolingo course is the lack of variety in the exercises. So far, it seems that there is a large amount of repetition of sentences within lessons, with many sentences appearing two or even three times in a single lesson, meaning that the opportunity for improving fluency is greatly decreased. Also, it seems that some words appear very few times or not at all in a lesson (ankaŭ and ĉar are two examples which spring to mind), meaning that they can easily be forgotten or missed entirely.
I realise that the course is still in beta , so obviously it won't be perfect, but I was wondering if anyone else feels the same, and if so, is there any way of getting in contact with the moderators to have a look at this?
Repetition is an important factor in language learning. In the early stages you will only have a small vocabulary so the amount of repetition may seem excessive, especially if you have a good memory, but as your vocabulary increases this repetition will usually decrease during exercises.
The problem isn't so much repetition of words and phrases, as I understand that this is important. However, the Esperanto course seems to use identical sentences, rather than changing the words slightly or using more variety, and it struck me as slightly odd, seeing as the other language courses generally use the same new pieces of vocabulary but in different contexts, so that you don't get the same sentence twice in the same lesson.
