I have finished my German tree on a 100 day streak!
Hello awesome community! I have finally finished my German tree today all golden on a 100 day streak. (My tree : http://imgur.com/4gRiaRG ). I started my tree in March if I remember correctly lost my streak a couple of times at the beginning, But then I was committed to practice every day because I really wanted to get better as I find the German language incredibly interesting, fun and practical. There have been some difficulties throughout the tree in things like the Genitive case and skills like adverbs and abstract objects. Each time I felt “this is too hard I will never be able to understand this or remember it”. But then I decide to keep practicing that skill more and more and see the discussion there is almost always great help there from awesome people. Also I go to memrise to try to strengthen my memory of the new words. And I kid you not. It worked every time. Just saying that to everyone who is starting or struggling like me in any skill. Just keep practicing! The human brain is remarkable and it will often surprise you with how much you can learn and understand even though it may seem overwhelming at first. When I reached the middle of the tree I decided to try to take A1 level exam on DW site and I got an average of 94 percent if I remember correctly and it said that I can try to take the A2 exam. However, I decided to wait until I finish the tree and learn more so that I could be really really ready for A2 and get a good result. So that will be my next step along with watching movies, cartoons, YouTube channels and other things like listening to music. My next goal is to reach B1 level by the end of this year hopefully. Wish me luck and thanks for all the fun :D

Congratulations! And thanks for sharing your story and resources. I´m currently struggling with Spanish and found this very encouraging. :)
Wow! Congrats! I'm learning German too, I I was starting to get overwhelmed, thanks for the help! Hopefully I can finish my tree soon : )
Congrats! :D Working on German as well, very slowly. My bad memory is not helping so I'm taking my time and going over things again and again, but I don't despair!
Oh my, I'm taking so long to finish mine. I'm finally only 3 units away, but looking to your all-golden tree makes me wonder if I should finish it in its current poor state. Maybe I should golden up a bit before the end.
I tried memrise but never really liked it, I finally found a flashcards site that I can enjoy: https://babadum.com/
Don't be silly. It doesn't matter whether it's gold or not. What matters is that you've done it. And once you finish the last skill you can still go back and keep going!
hehe my comment was from 3 years ago, I eventually managed to get it all golden, lost it with time as I focused on other languages, and I'm currently trying to get it golden again with the new system ;)
