The most natural answer in english would be simply 'why didn't you tell me?'

I got this one as a multiple choice question and it said that "Why did you not SAY me that" was a correct solution? Clearly not proper english...

''Why did you not say me that'' Is nonsense in English, it shouldn't be a correct option.

it should be 'why didn't you tell me?'

I wrote "why didn't you tell me about it?"

Is that wrong?

Same here. Should it be something like "disiez de ca?"

"disiez de ça" calls for an opinion, while "disiez ça" calls for information only.

"Why did not you tell me that" is not correct English.

I thought 'Why didn't you say it to me?' but I had a typo and got it wrong. Anyone know if it is acceptable? Edit: just tested it and it is acceptable.

My question was multiple choice and it marks both "Why weren't you telling me that" and "Why didn't you tell me that" as correct. It seems to me that the first response is imparfait and the second would be passé composé - i.e. avez dit instead of disiez?

You are perfectly right... in absolute.

However, "Pourquoi ne me le disiez-vous pas ?" is a common saying.
