Swedish TV shows

Hej! I was wondering if anybody knew some TV shows subbed in English.. Because I find it very entertaining to watch a TV show in a target language. I already know "Äkta människor" but that's all :/

Wallander is the first Swedish TV show I ever watched. Make sure you find the original Swedish version, though, not the BBC remake. Also, Bron/Broen was very useful to watch because it is part in Swedish and part in Danish. Both of these shows are crime dramas.

I don't know how many of these are available with subs, but..."Solsidan" was quite an amusing comedy, as was "Kontoret", the Swedish version of The Office. If you like documentaries, Fredrik Lindström made some excellent ones about Sweden and the Swedish language. "Äkta människor" was one of the most enjoyable Swedish shows I've seen, but you already know it... There have also been a lot of solid made-for-tv movies, I liked "Bibliotekstjuven" for example, which is a drama from 2011.

Do you have a link to the Fredrik Lindstrom documentaries, or a name at least?

No problem: • Värsta språket (The worst language) • Svenska dialektmysterier (Swedish dialect mysteries) • Världens modernaste land (The world's most modern country)

"Svenska Dialektmysterier" is great stuff. And - oh hey nice! - I see all its episodes are on youtube

I love Welcome to Sweden and find it really helpful as a Swedish learner. Sometimes it feels so tedious for me to try to watch something entirely in a new language that it's hard to get through whole episodes and actually enjoy the show, so the scenes in English really help to break up the mental work and hold my attention. I have it on Amazon Prime which does have English subtitles.

Bron and VLCSub work very well (I bought the DVDs off Amazon for pretty cheap)

It's not a TV show, but on Netflix there's a documentary about the Black Power Movement from a Swedish perspective. A lot of the movie is in English unfortunetly, but it's very interesting.

Can anybody help me with the language on the Mumin series? I'm wondering if they speak with a weird accent - I've noticed eg. "verkligen" with a hard G sound. sorry, no subtitles here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=auvwJ6VMzCM Is this Finnish-Swedish, since the author Tove Jansson is finlandssvensk?
