"The key is in the door."

Translation:Nøkkelen står i døren.

Why is the 'står' used in this sentence? Wouldn't that mean 'the key is standing in the door?'


That's just how we say it in Norway.

"Nøklene er i døren" is also an accepted translation, but it would be a less common way of expressing it.
