Podcasts in french with transcripts available
Bonjour tout le monde!
I recently found a series of podcasts about Canadian history and culture and it has really helped me improve my french vocabulary.
The spoken french is very clear and well-enunciated and the transcripts are super useful to people learning the language. I personally think the podcasts cover some interesting subjects. Judge for for yourselves :)
J'espère que vous l'aimerez!
Not sure if this is a stupid question, but is Canadian French the same as 'normal' French or are there differences that could be confusing when listening to these? Thanks :)
To my limited knowledge, it's more an issue of accented difference, like Australian english is to 'english' english. If clear (which the pod cast does sound) it should be fine... (although I'm happy to be corrected on this duo community)
I'm going to expand a bit on MrRICHscc's comment. There is a difference in general vocabulary between the two especially when it comes to informal spoken language. However the french in these podcasts is relatively neutral and should be fine for people learning "french-french"
Thanks, these seem very good. A whole hour on l'explosion de Halifax . . . and canots, and Glenn Gould, and plenty more. Cool!
[Added] And also you can, for instance, "navigue[r] par thèmes; not all the material is audio, but what great subjects, for instance, "Exploration et colonisation" has "L'Exploration de l'Arctique et la Recherche du Passage du Nord-Ouest pendant la première moitié du dix-neuvième siècle" . . . Thanks again, safesea. Please accept some more lingots. :)
