Learning Latin on Duolingo?

I think it would be amazing if there was a Latin course on Duolingo! I personally don't know Latin, but I'm sure that someone here knows. It would be great to learn Latin since it is a really important, and often used language! What do YOU think? Let me know in the comments!

It would be cool to have a Latin course, but at the moment there are other languages with a higher demand and those must be made first before Latin can even start. The closest thing we have to it would probably be Greek. Which is still in the incubator.

Having attended Jesuit prep school and university, I had to take 6 years of Latin. I don't think it's a language that you can learn as easily as a modern language. Today there is no practical use for Latin as there was years ago when, say, doctors wrote their prescriptions in it. Not that it's still not in use (E pluribus unum comes to mind), I don't think Duolingo is the proper forum, although I could be wrong. It is the root of our modern languages, and my limited knowledge has made it easier for me to learn Spanish and French. I'd be interested in hearing how other Latin students feel about this.
