When I joined a month ago to start learning Swedish I never thought it'd be so addictive! At this rate it'll probably take me three more months to complete my trees but it doesn't matter. I'm having so much fun! Thank you, Duolingo teams!

Completing a tree in four months is very, very fast. If you try to do more than one new lesson per day, I think you'll find that you reach a point where you've forgotten enough of the earlier material to take the fun out of new lessons.

A better approach is to a) keep the tree gold by doing two review lessons per day and b) only do one new lesson per day, and only do that when the tree is all gold. (Otherwise do a third review lesson). That will only take about 15 to 20 minutes a day (leaving you time to supplement Duo with other resources like Anki), and it'll take you 12 to 18 months to finish the tree. But you're likely to know the language much better by then.

Thanks for the advice! How does Anki compare to Memrise?

Here's my writeup on how to install and get the most out of Anki. I looked at Memrise, but it wasn't what I wanted.

I recommend trying it out to see if you like it. It's a minimalistic flashcard program where you can create flashcard decks or download user-made ones. It works like regular flashcards except you can rate how hard you found the word to remember and Anki will then make the harder words appear more often. It's similar to Memrise in this respect, but you chose which ones you find hard, instead of how it is in Memrise where if you actually input the word wrong it automatically shows you it more. I personally like Memrise more because I like the point system, but some people really like Anki.

Thank you! What is Anki called? Just Anki? When I did a search there were many results and the one I ended up downloading didn't work very well. Maybe I got the wrong one.

Good luck! But keep in mind that with languages sometimes it's hard and sometimes it's easy.

I spend way too much time on Duolingo courtesy of my long train commute :D and most of the time I just repeat old lessons. I'm actually progressing through my Swedish tree very slowly :)
