I would love to learn some Hindi. I hope that some native Hindi speakers will volunteer to build a Hindi for English Speakers tree.

yes we definitely will as soon as the option comes! (we're very eager to do that; Hindi's a very interesting language)

Thanks Aadit, I'm looking forward to having the opportunity to learn some Hindi so that I can try it out on my next visit to India, but learning the devanagari script is going to be challenging I think!

I think it can be challenging if you have English (or any other language with the Roman script) as your first language. So, yes it may be difficult; but still, once you start learning you find it very easy!

mark, i realize this is a late reply, but devangari is actually not that hard! i am teaching myself hindi currently, and if you are still interested in learning the language, i suggest you try the book, Read and Write Hindi Script by Rupert Snell (a teach yourself guide). the only difficult part of devangari is memorizing the 40 something characters in the alphabet. I wish you luck!

My family will be moving to India soon for some time and it would be wonderful to know some Hindi before we get there.

There is an "other" option, in which you can write that you'd like to do Hindi :)
