isnt having there is as a translation for ekzistas wrong..because couldnt the same be done with "estas"?
They're pretty interchangeable -- in both English and Esperanto. Yes, there are times when using "exists"/"ekzistas" might sound weird but I don't think this is one of them. "A foundation exists to help this organization" sounds perfectly natural to me.
