It shouldn't be, though the pronunciation sounds off in general. Compare the Swedish and Norwegian (scroll down) pronunciations of fiende here. It should be 3 distinct syllables, at least in the dialects of those people.
Could this also be translated as "The Devil is coming?"
So if there are more than one enemy, how do we say "the enemy are coming"?
