Timed Practice Challenges won't pause when checking discussions on the question
I've always noticed how when you're doing a timed practice and you click on the discussion for that question, the timer still goes on! I remember the surprise when I heard the ticking as I was peacefully scrolling my way through a discussion on a question.
I don't use timed practice often, but the point of timed practice is to answer as many question as you can in a certain time period. If the clock stopped, that would kind of defeat the purpose.
So does that include discussing a question? Surely they should really just get rid of the discussion feature on timed questions. I just find it a bit odd. It's not like you're cheating if you go on the discussion or something.
I agree. It would have been a better design decision to just do away with the discussion link. The difference between timed practice and non-timed is the ticking clock. If it stops and lets you get a second wind, the objective is lost.
Just to put it out there, a non-timed practice doesn't stop one from going fast. I usually finish the non-timed practices as quick as the timed ones. The advantage being, if I want to stop at a discussion, I can do that before again continuing with the mad rush.
Yeah but the only reason why I do the timed practice is because you're able to get up to 20 XP (if you get all the answers correct), while on the non-timed challenges you can only get 10XP.
