When can we expect to see the Esperanto Tree 2.0?

I'm sorry if this has been answered already but I couldn't find anything turn up in search. I was just wondering if there was an estimate when the additional lessons will be added onto the Esperanto tree? I know the contributors probably hate questions like these, but since we no longer see an estimate in percentages because the course has graduated to Beta, I feel like it is now a complete mystery and I don’t know if I will have to wait a few hours, weeks or months (I won’t even think years!).

Is it even being worked on now or are all the contributors and moderators only focusing on stabilizing the current course?

Thank you, Team Esperanto! I eagerly await the future addtions to the course!

Short: They're not working on it because they can't.

Longer: Up to now, Tree versioning is not something teams (any of them) can do: most of the courses are under 1.0, even the older ones.
Duo is working on a reliable, scalable, automatic process to create/test/manage tree versioning.
We all have to be patient. ;)

So for the moment, no team can create a version 2.0 of their tree.
The few new version of trees you can see are for a very few number of courses that were given the possibility to do so for a first test on a first version of this reliable, scalable, automatic process Duo is trying to construct.

However, even if Esperanto team could, I'm not sure they already would do so, only them know. ;)
They may be wait to, as you said, stabilize the current course and also to learn more about what isn't working for learners and should be changed.

Thanks for your reply.

I've heard a few selected courses may be in the process of getting their tree expanded but I thought Esperanto was in a different category that they had purposely released a shortened version first (I believe a whole checkpoint is missing in comparison to the average course.) So i thought the plan for the Esperanto tree was to first realise a shorter one and then to add more courses later. I could be wrong though and it could be the same process as all the other courses and therefore we'd have to wait a very long time.

Yep, they seem to have chosen to release a first version like that but I'm pretty sure they had no idea of when they'll be able to work on 2.0: older teams, after more than a year waiting for this ability, don't know (except the few ones selected to test the internal process) when they'll be able to do so. It's less far away than it was yesterday, but nothing more precise. ;)

I could be wrong though and it could be the same process as all the other courses and therefore we'd have to wait a very long time.

Never heard about any exception (except, again, the few "test teams") and there is no 2.0 under work in EO<-EN incubator part (I checked).

I can confirm that jrikhal is right, unfortunately. We have a growing internal wiki page with plans for changes and additions to Tree 2.0, which will sit there until we have access to a new tree version. My most realistic guess is that we'll get access some months from now and then it will take more months to actually create 2.0 while maintaining the current tree. So, I guess realistically, I'd say it'll take around a year before our Tree 2.0 is out, but a lot of that is out of our control.

Here is why I believe an Esperanto 2.0 course will come quicker.

Trimming the skill tree and releasing our course earlier

So, Christmas is over and now it's time to figure out what to do with the tree. Many of you were asking why we couldn't launch the course earlier, since we have so much of the early parts done already. Well, I was happy that Luis von Ahn popped into the Esperanto Incubator chatroom last week and we talked about that possibility. Our team agreed with him that we should cut all the lessons out after the last checkpoint and after we release the course into beta, we can add these lessons back in the 2.0 version of our tree, so everyone can get started faster and we can also discover potential issues with our course earlier.

So, this explains why our course suddenly went up to 60% complete. You can see the tree at Duolingo: Esperanto coming soon! and just imagine it without any skills after Communication and Abstract Objects 2. Feliĉan novan jaron! :)

It says that it'll be add to the Tree 2.0 but not when it'll happen. :(
For example, courses like RU/EN, FR/ES etc. wait for it for years... and some like the courses for IT, FR, PT, DE, SP (for non EN speakers) weren't able to choose the content of the tree, so in a way would need it even more. ;)
