Duolingo changed? Very little translating from English.

Over a year ago, I was studying Spanish intensively on Duolingo. Today I'm learning French, and I noticed that almost all the phrases are either "Translate to English" or "Type what you hear". There are very little English phrases that have to be translated to French. I find this a pity, because those are the most challenging and I like challenges.

Did Duolingo change the questions? Is there a setting I can change so I get more questions "Translate English to French"?

You could try the reverse tree for French speakers, which should give you almost exclusively translate to French exercises. Of course, they also seem to be running a test which does not allow you to turn the listening questions off, which might get annoying in a reverse course if you're unfortunate enough to be in that test.

That's a pretty good idea, I'll keep it in mind. Thanks!

I get no "translate to French" OR "type what you hear" questions. Has something changed or is something wrong with my settings?

If you have turned speakers off in your settings, you Won't get any "type what you hear" questions. You should get "translate to French" questions, but somehow we all get very few of those.

My speakers are set to "on" in my settings. I switched to Safari from Chrome--still no "type what you hear" or "translate to French." I even set up a new account. Same thing.

I can't get any sound since the recent format change.
