Pensa vs Acha

Both verbs are translated as "think". What is the difference between them?

they are used interchangeably... but "pensar" is also used to mean "pound over, to have a thought".

my opinion is that (pensar) is like saying that (to think) whereas (achar) more closely to saying (to find). Anyone can say they have a (thought). Anyone can say they (find it so) because of an experience they reference to and that is how they come about in saying they (find it so to be in their opinion of thought). I hope this makes sense to anyone.

acha = find (I found / eu achei) . But it also means opinion (i think she`s ugly/Eu acho ela feia).Pensa = think/reflect/meditate about something (I'm thinking about it/ Eu estou pensando sobre isso)

Ok I get it, so "pensar" translates more closely to "to ponder"?

to think, to ponder is ok with me. But to find it so, you would need to think and ponder before coming to the conclusion in finding it so.

So... I find/think she's ugly>>Eu acho ela feia? Makes sense.

Pensar is like the French réfléchir and achar is like the French penser.
