Culture of Turkey
Can anybody write about Turkey's culture, their likes dislikes, food, weather etc ? Just about anything ??
There are 75 million people in Turkey, so I think generalising about their like and dislikes might be a bit... you know...
It's very big so has a lot of variation in the climate and food and all that stuff. It's a secular state and the majority religion is Islam.
Nothing I can open wikipedia for information...I posted just for fun lol :p
I'm from the US and went to Istanbul in May. Honestly, the most shocking thing for me was the workforce. The majority of it was male. Also when you are looking for a place to eat how they like follow you around asking you to sit down or look at their menu haha
Well, I can only say that I admire the way most of the young people behave.I mean, for example, when you are in a bus and there are no seats available ,usually the younger person gives his/her seat to older person. In sing of politeness, the younger people kiss (I am not sure if I can use the word ''kiss'' here) older people's hands. It is named ''el öpmek''. You can see food, weather etc in the Net,so no need to talk about that. :) Aferin, gerçekten hayran kaldım gençlere. :)
Yeah actually I am from Pakistan and here its called kebab .. they're delicious lol
The most talk about things are politics and football in Turkey. Becomes a lot of crime on TV... There are seven regions. There are many kinds of food in these regions. For example turkish type ravioli (mantı), stuffed vegetables with olive oil (dolma), baklava etc... :D Always there are four seasons in Turkey. coast are hot, the northern part is raining, there are some places snow.
I were in Istanbul too, and i never saw so many places for bet xD everytime full of men and boys and so many stores for make up stuff. By the way I'm from Lima, Perú.
Evet evet, I like Turkey so much, It is a perfect mix of "old" and "modern" thing :D
