Perhaps you should consider "less often" as an alternative acceptable answer as "more seldom" sounds veey awkward as a literal translation

I find that skjeldnere sounds more like seldom and so is easier to remember. Perhaps that isn't enough in its own right to go back to the original best translation that had seldom, but that's my 2 cents.

I'm a native English speaker. I'd be more likely to say 'less often', but 'more rarely' is perfectly ok (that's how I originally translated 'sjeldnere').
