Sorry in advance if this has already been covered, I haven't been in the forums much lately and I couldn't find anything when I searched

Today for the first time I got speaking exercises - I don't know if they are very new, being rolled out gradually, or if I only just put speaking exercises on in my settings.

I'm super glad that we have them - Thanks Swedish Team!!!!

But I also found them very frustrating. I had to talk /super slow/ for them to pick up anything at all, which was frustrating because I've been practising at the TTS speed. Even then they really couldn't pick up much, and never did they mark me as having gotten a whole sentence correct. (super glad that it allows ~75% and up to pass, and doesn't fail with incorrect tries). These exercises were at least 1/4 of the review I did, which seems excessive, but it may just be because I found them frustrating. To my ears, it sounds like I'm pretty much spot on, but I understand that I might be wronger than I think.

Has anyone else had this issue? (is it just my mic?/my pronunciation?) If yes, is it likely to be improved upon? If so, is there a way to turn off the speaking exercises without missing out when it does get better? Would it be helpful to improving it for me to keep it on?

What are your thoughts on the speaking exercises?

They don't work for me, too, which is a shame. :( I try to speak slow, and I'm pretty sure I pronounce the words correctly, yet the system still won't accept anything I say :( I just turned those exercises off, eventually, but still occasionally turn them on again to check if they work.

I turned off my microphone as it was too frustrating failing over and over again. Now every time the voice reads some words or a sentence to me I repeat it loudly. That works way better for my pronouncation and for my motivation. :-)

The same happens to me. In order to make it work, I say word by word, and most of the times it gets it as correct.

Thanks everyone for your comments. I think I'll turn it off for the time being because I'd rather practice speaking at the TTS speed, which I already do with the other exercises.

It can be your mike. I use earphones with a mike while doing exercises and it works for me almost perfectly.
