Like the title says, I love the new "fix mistakes" button. ( I find it a really good way to learn from your mistakes.) When I was doing the timed practice, I had just noticed it, but the problem was, as I was correcting it, the time ran out... This was really inconvenient and I could only answer one question per timed practice. Is there going to be any improvements?

As of about an hour ago, the "fix mistakes" button does not appear in timed practice anymore.

Does it have been implemented for all users or just 25% of them for testing?

I made a lot of mistakes (typo type and really mistake type) to test the new feature but it never ask me to correct my answer...

Hey Luis, are the A and B groups for testing features randomly chosen for each feature? is there any way to "opt in" to being in the beta group more often?

Yes, they're randomly chosen. We don't let people opt in or out while we test because we want to measure how the average user reacts.

I never see the "Fix mistake" button but I can edit my answer by clicking on the answer box after I got it wrong. I wonder if that means I'm in the beta or not.

I think you're not. Me neither and I can also edit it, see this discussions:

I totally agree, this has made using the site really difficult for me. For timed mode, it makes much more sense to review your mistakes at the end (about a thousand people have made this suggestion).

Here's my suggestion: the 'Enter' button should still move you to the next question. If you want to correct your answer, there should be a different shortcut.

I disagree. Under the pressure of the clock, when one thinks one knows the right answer, the knee-jerk reaction is to hit enter a couple of times. Enter as default means at the very least you have time to see your mistake.

I agree. I really like the 'fix mistakes' option, but not a fan of it in the timed exercises. You could always use the skip question option, but it does waste precious seconds.
Overall though, I think I prefer having this option over not having it.

we could probably just have on the non-timed practice, that way we have all the time to analyze the sentence carefully.

I have a different issue...On the last life, I am not seeing the CORRECT translation when it has you type out a sentence in Spanish. It doesn't allow the fix option, which is fine...but I would like to know what I did wrong. Can anyone from Duolingo address this?

I have the same problem - on the last life it goes straight to the crying owl and doesn't show me the right answer. Clicking 'show my answer' just shows me my answer, not the right answer.

Do you mean it shows the crying owl? Well in the top right corner you can click show my answer or something like that.

Yeah, I always do that, but this time nothing showed up. I did just notice there was the option to say I don't know...and that showed the correct response, but I don't know if that works on the very last life or not...we'll see. :-) Thanks for your response.

Try clicking on the discussion section of that problem. The original translation should show up there!

I like that you get more time for having fixed an answer, but don't get the gold. It works well. You can always skip the question.

I do think that if the time gets to 0:00 while fixing, it should not automatically go to the finish screen, but give you the time to correct the mistake before ending the session.

Fix mistakes button? It must be some new beta feature. It sounds awesome! Can you take a screenshot of it in action please? For German, I have been making posts about errors and reporting them (Unless I run out of time in a timed practice, in which case I make a post about it and/or send a report to Duolingo via the button on the left of the screen) every time I run into them, so this will hopefully make the process of explaining errors easier and get said errors fixed faster.

Edit: I think I may have misunderstood the purpose of the "Fix mistake" button.

Cool! Thanks.:)

As for your issue with the feature, I think that might be fixed if Duolingo implements Hackathon Project #3.

Maybe I am misunderstanding the purpose of the "Fix mistake" button. If it's for fixing a mistake and sending a recommended translation to Duolingo, then Hackathon Project #3 would allow you to go back and do that.

Okay, here is a better explanation: after making a mistake while typing, the "fix mistake" button comes in handy, which allows you to retype/correct it. Not anything to do with reporting a problem.

@1bimic Ah, I see! Thanks for the explanation.

It's super frustrating! It either shouldn't be available in timed practice at all, or at least it shouldn't be the automatic option--pressing Enter should take you to the next question. It's a really good idea for non-timed practice and lessons, though.

Absolutely agreed. This is fine for regular lessons. In the timed practices it's a huge issue, especially when a "mistake" is a small typo. I'd rather spend that time practicing.

I found you can click on "Discussion" and it will show the correct answer. Cheating not learning.
