Automatic following

Ok, I am a person who likes commenting in other peoples discussions especially if they need help, but what I don't like is after I post something in one of them I automatically follow it. It could be a solved situation but I still get emails about every person that agreed with me or didn't and I have to go through everyday and delete a bunch! I would appreciate if there was a way to fix this. please help:D

Just unfollow the discussion by clicking the button in the top right corner of the discussion page. When you post it turns green and says "Following discussion". Pressing it will deactivate following (it will now turn gray and say "Follow discussion"). Actually, I for one like the feature.

I like this feature. Or rather, I liked this feature, past tense. I don't know whether it was a deliberate change, but it looks like commenting on a discussion doesn't automatically set "following". (I'm making this comment on 2014-01-25, a few days after the "new interface" was rolled out.)

If that was a deliberate change, I think it was a mistake, since lots of people now assume that they will automatically see any responses to what they added to an existing discussion.
