Age on Duo?
I want to know who uses duo the most. Is it middle-aged, college, middle school, high school, just-out-of-college...? Please give me an accurate age poll or something. Thanks!
I am retired school teacher, youthful 70 year old. I am planning some trips to Spain and Cuba for a start. I would like to be a traveler more than a turista. I just love Duolingo and all the participants!
I am still waiting for a regular user to post that they are older than me. (75). Also a retired teacher, and also love Duo. Youthful also? Depends on the day. ;)
Someone posted here that they were 81 not too long ago. I can't remember the name though:/
I don't think that's old for Duolingo at all. If you can take in information and assimilate new knowledge/skills, then I think you're the perfect age, whatever the number.
True. I just think that when anybody says any thing over 60, us young kids immediately connect that to ancient. It's like a genetic defect, speaking as one of the "young kids."
How can it be an accurate poll? There are many millions of Duolingo users and you may get a few dozen replies if you are lucky.
You could always create a survey on, say, Google Forms and invite people to do their clicks there.
Yeah, but who connects to something from the web? Could be anything. Plus, people occasionally lie about their age.
Middle-aged is always ten years from how old you are :-). However, you get a HUGE party when you're fifty, so it all works out.
Hahaha, and would those be the 20 years you knocked off in the post above? :D
In all seriousness, I'm not dreading 30 as much as I thought I'd be - though it'd probably have been different if I were the oldest of my friends instead of the youngest. Hopefully I'll finally start feeling like an adult!
Yes, give or take a year or two :-p I'm not dreading 50 at all... at least not until next year! :-D
I'm entering high school as a freshman! It'll be a new experience for me. :D I'll study Italian to improve my Italian skills!
Gracias. ^_^ It's actually from a character in Artemis Fowl, a book series by Eoin Colfer. Someone here was already named Holly Short and I got the number two there.
Second year of High School and halfway through my first year of college.
I'm in my second year of college, I studied abroad in Germany this year which is what spurred me to start learning.
I'm 21 and next year i would like to study in Sweden something that is about environment protection or healthy nutrition, but i don't seem to find the right studies, so if anyone has any ideas, please share them, thank you! :D
I'm fifteen, on Duo because New Zealand schools only teach Chinese and French and I want to learn Swedish xD
27 graduated college with a BA degree in Social Work (2012), an Associate's degree in Early Childhood Ed. (2008), and a Certificate in Sign Language (2013).
No, that's my nickname, Drama Queen. I do a lot of theater around here (in fact I just directed my first show a few months ago!)
Sorry :( (i couldnt think of anything else it could stand for at the moment and I have wondered almost every time I see something you post.) that's awesome!! Congratulations what was the name of the show?
We did one of my favorites that I've now been a part of three times, "You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown". The first time, which was a scene study, I was Charlie Brown. The second time, which got cancelled, I was Snoopy. Third time around, I directed.
Been out of college for a couple years, just starting to branch into the professional world-so I'm in my mid 20s.
16 years old, soon to be a Junior in High School.
22 :) just graduated university and started learning italian as I have wanted to for many years and duolingo has made it possible.
I'm 59. I've been out of high school for decades. Duolingo is my school now.
