Hi everyone! I missed a few weeks, sorry about that. There were some very close scores between the top four all time this week! Awesome work everyone, keep it up!
Looks like the incubator is coming out soon, too! Are you guys excited?
If you're wondering where you rank for this week and you're not on the top 10, this might be a bit helpful:
20th - 1700 points
30th - 881 points
40th - 756 points
50th - 545 points
75th - 341 points
100th - 233 points
150th - 92 points
Thanks for stopping by, have a great day!
This is far from true as not everyone is friend with score_board. You can say that it is true among those who care about scores :P
Obviously not everyone is listed. I meant in the top 50 with the people who he has friended, as that is what this thread is about.
21173 points in 20 days? That's literally over 1000 points a day. So if you did speed runs and on AVERAGE got most of the answers right (18 points) that would be 59 times a day. Given a speed run takes a few minutes - let's say 5 minutes to a person who knows what they're doing... That's non-stop 295 minutes a day or 5 hours a day of solid Duolingo speed runs... That's ridiculous.
Taking a placement test and skipping 10 levels (3,000 pts) can help, too.
Edit: not saying that's what they did, just saying it's possible.
I got 4000 points in my first few days. I took the placement test in all 5 languages here that I already had knowledge of before using the site.
That's why we need global leader board. It motivates me if I see I have more points than ppl on my friend list :)
Actually it motivate you to get more points. Still does not mean you wanna learn the langugae. In my opinion there shouldnt be any leaderboard, We are not here to compete. We are here to learn. All of us are the same. After 4 years no leaderboard yet i believe in this website
well darn didn't realize i had to add ya for last week's scores. I might have a screen shot of mine though (didn't want to lose anything with the time change and had heard someone say they've had probs before with that. ) ^_^
I just found out about reversing the languages and laddering. I got over 15,000 points in less than one day by taking placement tests. I hadn't previously considered that I could reverse the languages. I already speak, English, Spanish, French and Portuguese, so it was really cool when I found out I could mix up all the different combinations and also immediately test into a level. I am doing the following combinations:
English to Spanish / English to French / English to Portuguese / English to Italian Spanish to English / Spanish to French / Spanish to Portuguese / Spanish to Italian French to English / French to Spanish / French to Italian Portuguese to English / Portuguese to Spanish / Portuguese to French Italian to English
P*rr@, só falta perguntar se é de Londrina também. . Além de Duolingo, o q vc faz da vida?
