I wrote a little game/quiz to help you practice your French conjugations
Verb grammar is one of the more tedious aspects of learning French, but definitely something you need a solid handle on to be fluent. For me personally I needed something where I could just drill the verb endings for the tense I'm learning at any one time. It frees up your mind a bit to start constructing sentences later if you're already pretty solid on the conjugating part :)
Anyway here you go (the quiz is halfway down the page!): http://www.verbedujour.com
Feel free to choose whatever tense you want to practice, just click on the settings icon. Let me know what you think!
Thank you, that's amazing!
One little question though, is there an option to deactivate certain tenses if one is already fluent in them?
(Personally) I think the subjunctive imperfect is so rarely used that I'm not sure whether it should be mandatory in your game.
Anyways thank you again!
EDIT: Oops sorry I now see that you did include that option, but for some reason it won't respond if I click on the gear icon
Hmm. Must be a wee bug :P I'll have a look
Edit: fixed. Just refresh your browser! I also made the subjunctive imperfect opt-in rather than opt-out. Thanks for the feedback :)
Oh I think got it now, there is probably a compatibility issue with Mozilla Firefox, when I switched to Chrome it all worked. :)
Very useful. But is it possible to change the verb to something else other than souffrir? Even just one of each IR, ER and RE verb would be very useful
Click on the dice icon next to the search box to be given a new random verb or use the search function if you have a specific verb in mind.
It's amazing, I'm totally in love with this page :) Have you done or are planning to do something similar for other languages?
Thanks! Yes, I'm hoping to do the inverse for French-English first, and then do other languages too. For now my focus is on French though :)
This is the most useful verb conjugation quiz site I've seen (and the prettiest)--love it!
That is cool! I did have a little trouble getting started.
Maybe moving the dice to the other side of the search box would be clearer for that (I struggled finding a way to get another verb)? Also I like the map of common verbs but doubt many people would find that, perhaps another icon at the top would be more obvious?
A more ambitious suggestion would be some kind of history of verbs tested with scores etc.
I like your suggestions, I'm going to make a few changes over the coming weeks :) Thanks!
Great looking and functional design! Thanks for this. I think it should have a feature for selecting a specific verb.
Where do you take the test?
