Duolingo Games :)

I know that my idea my might seemed a bit out there, but I feel that it'll be helpful if there where more options to learning a language. By a game I mean an activity where a user gets to displays his knowledge of a language by:

Choosing whether a word is feminine or masculine or neuter (like those in practice). Or Typing as fast as you can the definition of a word.

Each game could be a chance to earned gems or Xp. Just an idea. Maybe I'll be fun, any game suggestions?

Choosing the gender of the word seems like a nice idea, especially since many people seem to have problem with that, but how do you imagine typing the definition of a word work? The way I see it, there would be no way for the computer to check whether it is correct, as there can be an indefinite number of definitions.

And may the genders be forever in your favor.

Except, like in the Hunger Games, they never are.

I feel like earning Lingots from them would make them a better alternative to the actual program, which usually, it isn't. I do like the idea of games though, maybe as an option next to the "strengthen x skill" button. People could have a chance to compete for the top on a leaderboard, and lingots could be earned from ranking highly there. They still could integrate lingots though, maybe if they had daily challenges, and gave some to the top scoring 1st 2nd and 3rd place for the day.

I like the idea. I finished the Spanish tree. I also took a semester in France. I know more technically about Spanish, but what I know in French comes to mind so easily. But like Crudus implies, maybe we shouldn't look only to duo to learn. However maybe duo could add games as a paid service. Their constant tune seems to be we're small and have so much to do. I can't see them conceiving and programming games the way things are going now.

This would help, in my opinion also.
