Tack för en fantastisk semester (slightly off-topic)
Last week, I came back from an amazing holiday in beautiful Sverige. I was in Lapland / Laponia, to be exact, where I was hiking on the famous Kungsleden from Abisko to Vakkotavare.
I only started learning Swedish here on Duolingo about a month before my holiday, so it really wasn't enough to hold up a conversation. But I was seriously surprised about how much I already could understand, even from people talking. When it comes to myself talking... well... "Ursäkta, jag talar inte Svenska" and "ett kaffe, tack" will get you through :D
The Swedish people I met were all extremely nice, helpful and welcoming, especially the stugvärdar along the way. In addition to the amazing, unbelievably beautiful landscape you get to see, this made for a fantastic and unforgettable holiday.
Tack så mycket, Sverige!
P.S: If anyone's interested, I'd like to share some impressions from the hike (I'm no photographer, so don't expect much) and I'd like to send a request to the Swedish people in general: Please preserve your landscapes and protect their nature! It's absolutely worth it.
