    Jogamos na roda da capoeira.

Maybe: "Nós jogamos NA noite." ?

no. At night = à noite / de noite.

'In the night' or 'at night' was not in the possible answers!!!! Duolingo tricks me!!!!!!!!!!!

It's confusing. I feel it should be "na." Otherwise it seems like it would be "We play the night."

    That's because it has a + a = à.

The first a = to, at

The second a = the (fem.)

    a noite = the night

    à noite = at night.

How do i say last night?

    https://www.duolingo.com/profile/Paulenrique

    a noite passada / ontem à noite.

When is jogamos present and when is it past?

    https://www.duolingo.com/profile/Paulenrique

    It depends on the context:

    • nós jogamos à noite = we play at night
    • nós jogamos ontem à noite = we played yesterday night,

How do you say „tonight”? I found in my dictionary both „esta noite” and „a noite”.

I'm not a native speaker, but I would say, 'hoje a noite'. Native speakers, can you confirm this?

    https://www.duolingo.com/profile/surfx2015

yes, "hoje à noite" it is more common

but you can also say: "à noite", "esta noite"

So this could also be, "We play in the evening." :)

    What about, "We play tonight"?

    https://www.duolingo.com/profile/Paulenrique

IMO, it should also be accepted.

Thank you. Your affirmations help me gain confidence (as well as knowledge). :)

Finally, a lesson where you can hear the "à" between to words, especially when one of those words has an "a" starting or ending it. But, this audio is like the extreme of the others ... it is so long and flat out spoken, that it seems unnatural. It is like aaaaaaaa noite.
