Seven and ten both fits here. This is a mistake in the exercise

The form exercise for this sentence had two correct answers, but only one was accepted. It is fixed now.

So if someone asked a kid how old he was and he responded, "Десять" would that be acceptable?

Yes, that's the usual way

Can anyone explain to me why numbers from 10 up are written with 'сять' suffix but we read them like 'сеть'. If I have written like I hear I would write 'десять' like 'десеть'.

I thought ten was дес'ять, not десять.

Same here so I chose один!

Are there certain situations for "мені" and "мене", or can I use either of them?

"Мене" is exactly translated as "to me". But coming to "менi", it is not so "to me", it can be translated as "I am".
